This system is designed to determine which of these three body type's you fall under by evaluating you and taking you through our assessments that way we can create a specific meal plan and program specific to your type. As a result, our main goal is to transition our athletes into the Mesomorph body type and with our tools and systems in place this has been proven to produce 100% Results. W.D Sheldon was a professor who came up with an analogy on determining a person's body type physique. He labeled these three physiques as Endomorphs, Ectomorphs, and Mesomorphs. Which I personally believe to be a genius move. Labeling an individual as a specific body type can help that person understand certain roadblocks which can then give them a better understanding on what needs to be done for whenever they are ready to join a fitness program. So, let's start off with a brief explanation of each of these body types and learn what the pros and cons are for each body type.
Endomorphs are usually solid and generally soft. Endomorphs gain fat and put on weight very easy. They are usually a shorter build with thicker arms and legs. Muscles are strong, especially the upper legs. Endomorphs find they are naturally strong in leg exercises like the squat. They also have a very slow metabolism and when it comes to training the find it very easy to put on weight. Unfortunately, a large portion of this weight is fat not muscle. In order for endomorphs to keep fat gains to a minimum they must always train cardio as well as weights. High intensity interval training works more effectively with this body type. Endomorphs must have a low calorie diet of no more that 1,750 calories a day. Even 1,500 is a great calorie consumption to have. Usually supplements may not be needed as long as the person has a high protein intake with low calorie diet.
Ectomorphs are very lean and slim people who have a fast metabolism but struggle to put on weight. They are very good when it comes to cardiovascular training. Which is anything long distance or done with time intervals. They are your typical skinny guy or lady. Ectomorphs have a very light build with small joints and lean muscle. Usually they have long thin limbs with stringy muscles and shoulders that tend to be a little thin with a little width as well. Some more typical traits of ectomorphs are flat chest, small "delicate" frame and bone structure., classic "hard gainer". In order for ectomorphs to put on weight they have to have a high calorie diet and reduce cardiovascular training to a bare minimum and focus more on heavier loads during weight training. Ectomorphs should also eat before bed to prevent muscle catabolism during the night. Generally, ectomorphs can lose fat very easily which makes cutting back to lean muscle easier for them.
Mesomorphs on the other hand are the most favorable body type. Why? Because they have a large bone structure, large muscles, and are naturally athletic. They are the best body type for body building. They have no problem gaining or losing weight. Mesomorphs are naturally strong which is the perfect platform for building muscles. Mesomorphs are best at weight training . There gains are usually seen very quickly, especially for beginners. The downside to mesomorphs is they gain fat more easy than ectomorphs. This means they must watch there calorie intake. So, a combination of weight training and cardio usually works best for this type.
